Hi Olga, I used combat ant killing bait strips and it says it works for red ants. It is pretty inexpensive and it got rid of my ants within 2 days. I also set a couple of them out the wall where they come in just to make sure. Here is a link to check it out. This is on ebay but walmart.com has them too.

How to Get Rid of Ants With Borax & Sugar
I sweep them up with my vacuum and dump them, mostly still alive, in my outside woodpile. I think they must have a purpose in nature, just not in my house. It may take a few episodes of vacuuming, but it's worth it not to use toxic chemicals.
