Look for coupons for the franchised carpet cleaners. Don’t let them upsell you on treatments & Services you don’t need.
You should be able to get it done for less than renting a shampoo machine.
If you do rent one, go very easy on the detergent. Leaving soap residue in the carpet is like leaving shampoo in one’s hair and getting out of the shower.
I would try a vacuum-able carpet shampoo, after spot treating for the particular stains.
rent the carpet cleaner from your local hardware or even walmart stores and clean them yourself - much cheaper
Skip the "shampoo" unless necessary, any residue will collect more dirt and grime. Steam cleaning is best or rent a machine and use a water and vinegar solution.
