How can I build a hoist for use in an elevated house?

I am booking into a house that is elevated 15 feet up off the ground. Lots of steps! I am trying to figure out how to build a hoist of sorts that I can use to carry groceries upstairs or to send garbage cans downstairs. Maybe some kind of pulley system That is attached to the exterior deck? It would be really cool if I could hoist myself up and down as well but I may just have to start with the groceries first, LOL.

That's a lot of steps. I always see beautiful houses in movies with steps like that and always think about how many trips it would take to get the groceries in, haha. Hi LK. Purchase a well made electric winch system if you'll be sending yourself up and down😁 A regular old pulley system will work for your groceries and goodies.
You Tube has a ton of simple DYI lifts, using cheap Harbor Freight components.
Look into installing a simple elevator for you or at least a dumb waiter for groceries.
They showed how to make an elevator on a recent episode of Texas- Flip and Move using an electric hoist.
