Sable, if you click on "explore projects" then "organize" then "home office" you will find an abundant supply of help. I have chosen one for you, but there are many more. Hope this helps. https://www.hometalk.com/diy/build/shelves/get-organized-with-built-ins-11983011
Get Organized With Built-ins!
Get rid of as much as you can. trash and donate! then sort like with like and determine if you need drawers, bins, etc!
Think of your office as a cockpit.
Everything that you can reach from your chair is Priority One.
The extra reams of paper, the extra toner cartridges and all other once-a-week items are on shelves, in bins in the No-Priority Zone, where you get out of the cockpit and walk to the item.
Morgan and Cheryl's recommendations are exactly what I did in my home office (with the help of a friend who is a pro at organizing!). Work in sections. Edit first, putting your stuff into categories: toss, donate, keep. Collect items that are alike in their own piles. Decide where you want the "keep" items and whether you need a shelf, cabinet, baskets or other containers. Check out ideas online as suggested by DesertRose and see what others have come up with. Then the key is keeping things in their designated place to keep your space tidy.
