Bonny...You can paint or cover with mod podge and use one ply napkin designs or cover with contact paper.
Give them all the same finish .
My first thought was spray paint.
Spray painting wood takes some different preparation, but it is the paint to use.
You’ll want to take all the doors & drawers off and paint them horizontally in the garage, where the wind won’t get any dust on them.
Obviously both inside and in the garage you’ll have to deal with overspray and spray mist settling on everything. I would build fake zip walls.
Replace all cabinets
I would paint them in the same color and change the hardware so they match. Painting things in the same color unifies them and makes them feel they belong together.
Some people put contact paper (looks like wood) on file cabinets, some paint the wood and metal to match, some use a flat board across short metal cabinets to make a desk. Hope this helps Bonny, I am not sure if you mean wood cabinets too or just wood.
