Here are some you can purchase on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/s?k=lap+pillow+for+tablet&ref=nb_sb_noss_2

Take a wood tray or piece of “project sized” Masonite and drill holes along the perimeter about 1” on center, 1/2” max away from the edges. This is your work surface.
Go to thrift store & buy a big sofa pillow, open up one end with a seam ripper (if it doesn’t have a zipper) put dry rice on the side that’s going to be on your lap, stitch it back up.
With a very large needle, thread thick nylon or polyester cord through it and whip stitch the work surface to the pillow top.
Before I got one of those lap desks, I used to put a pillow on my lap with a thin piece of luan plywood to sit my laptop on while I worked.
there are many types of tablet, cell phone and laptop holders for handicapped people I've had 6 surgeries on hands & arms and use these to help myself. lap pillows I find only increase soreness in neck because they do not hold them high enuf to keep you from stoopping over/slouching with bent neck or end up crossing legs to lift it higher up. Adding additional problems elsewhere. Along with having to move it everytime you want to get up& down. They make many kinds so look for what works best in area you need it. Chair, bed, attaching different ways to different surfaces here are examples https://www.google.com/search?q=handicap+tablet+holders&safe=active&rlz=1C1CHBF_enUS750US750&source=univ&tbm=shop&tbo=u&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjoxvm8o_TjAhXUrZ4KHW6bDnEQsxgILw&biw=1366&bih=657
