    Hi Patsy,

    Dust your plants with a thin layer of all purpose flour (make sure it is the salt free kind, the salt will damage your plants). The flour will become sticky when they try to consume it, gumming up their mouth and they will starve to death.

    Put a small amount of dish washing liquid in a spray bottle with water and spray the plant. Planting cilantro, calendula, and sweet clover in your garden will keep grasshoppers away as well
