How many do you have?
Instead of spending money trying to transform them, donate the lot to a junior/high school/art department. The students can have some fun making 3D sculptures with them. More often than not, there is just no budget for these kinds of art supplies and materials.
You got my curiosity going so I took apart a used K-cup. Whatever you end up doing with them I would go with something that doesn't require removing the aluminums strip that sticks to the edge-- horrendous to remove!
Haha! Yes, John, I agree! Have already tried it - decided there are too many other creative projects out there, than to fool with them. I have seen some framed designs that are lit up w/ colored bulbs inside the K-cups, kinda cool! But the same goes for cutting aluminum pop/beer cans for art - the tiny shrouds of sharp aluminum can cut, come off, too risky w/ cats. :)
