How can I make sun shades for a porch or patio?

Will the sunshades cover the porch or patio horizontally or hang straight down? I've made sunshades using treated 2x2s as a frame with shade cloth stapled to it. They hung from the soffitt of the roof on my house to keep sun off of the windows. I hope this helps - if you have further questions, please let us know!

Do you want the sun shades to be left in the same position all the time, or do you want them so that they can be opened and closed during different times of the day?

PVC plumbing pipe. Draw out your design & dimensions on graph paper, calculate how many T’s, couplers, & L’s you’ll need. Buy the cutters, the primer & the glue.

Paint it when done, as it’s not UV stable & will get brittle in a couple of years.

Cheap, easy, creative and if you mess up, cut it apart & put in some couplers & fix it.
