I know you will need a level.
Hi, Anne!
The best way to do it is to start in a corner, if possible, and work out from there. A level will be needed to make sure that the cabinets are level side to side and front to back. Note that they may not be square are in the corner (as no house is ever "square"!). The cabinets will be screwed to each other inside the face frame, then screwed to the wall, preferably in a wall stud. I hope this helps and if you have further questions, please ask!

Rather than moving the cabs... Could you add an open shelf underneath your cabinets? This is all the rage now, and it would be a lot easier and quicker. You could store pretty glassware, bowls, etc on the shelf. If your upper cabs are 12' deep, a 6 or 8 inch shelf with a lip could really add quite a bite of easy-to-reach storage. Some decorative corbels ( to support the shelf) could add a fun punch of architecture. Best wishes!
