A whole carpet would be hard to achieve in getting the dye distributed evenly. I feel sure someone out there is brave enough to try. Sorry I could help you. Best of luck.
Hi, Shirley. I answered your question previously. Basically, to dye it yourself, you can't count on an even or lasting result.

I would not attempt this project on a carpet that has been used (walked on-geneal wear and tear) because the surroundings are tracked into the fibers, no matter how much it has been vacuumed or cleaned. The results would be uneven color, as Cynthia stated.
If this is a new carpet, I would consult the manufacturer and give as much info about the carpet as I possibly could. They might have some recommendations.
