Try dusting plants with a sifter full of self rising flour. The bugs eat some leaves with the flour and explode. Biodegradable stuff. Needs to be reapplied after a rain.

I would use food grade diatomaceous earth. It grinds their little exoskeletons, until they fatally hemorrhage. We humans, already eat FGDE in our diets, because all of the major grain mills in the United States, use it in the grain, to kill pests naturally.
You can also use boric acid which is the active ingredient in roach proof. It destroys their nervous system’s when they ingest it. It also is not harmful to humans.
All pest remediation measures are washed away with watering and with rain
