How can I make a dark outline on latex kitchen cabinets?
I'm having my kitchen cabinets replaced but the paint is a solid cream color. I want to add the bit of dark brown stain look to the simple details to help them stand out. But, I've been told that the dark wax method will not work on latex. Does anyone have a suggestion for that look?

Hi Joan! You can use glaze over latex paint! here is how one person did it!

I used oil paint to glaze and it cracked perfecly!
Water down paint 50/50. Brush the details and wipe off with a cloth or paper towel.
Are you certain that the finish the new cabinets will have is indeed latex paint?
Are they coming directly from the factory in the 'solid cream color'?
Hi Joan, you can add depth with a stain, paint it on with a brush and use a rag to wipe the stain off immediately if you'd like a lighter tone. But for a deeper tone, leave the stain on the wood for 5 to 10 minutes before wiping it off. Be sure to wipe off all the excess stain going in the direction of the grain of the wood. Hope this helps you out.
