Call your homeowners insurance. They may cover a whole new roof. Otherwise you will need to replace the missing shingles.

Your insurance company may recommend a roofer or two if they are paying. The deductible will pay off in keeping your home’s value. Don’t get on your roof yourself until you have watched some YouTube videos, and not at all if you get dizzy, have trouble walking, or are scared too much. On the other hand, if you call at least three roofers, check whatever license or certificate they have, check the BBB report, check references, ask for their liability insurance proof (and check your own—states vary wildly in what is required. Get the materials list and check prices online. My husband always meets repairmen at Lowe’s or Home Depot, pays for the supplies himself, and travels with the pros back to our house to unload and secure the materials. Get a specific price in writing and a specific date for the work to be done. If they require half down, as is common around here in north Texas, remember that you have already bought the supplies, so all you will owe is for labor. Safety first! Jewell

I agree with William. Homeowner's insurance might well cover this. But you'll need a good roofer to do the work, roof work is dangerous and not for the average do-it-yourselfer.

Agreed, I wouldn't risk this one trying to DIY. Call on the Pros! And good luck
