How can I get rid of crab grass without harming my plants?
I’ve tried every commercial product on the market and even some home remedies that were recommended for weeds but after all of my great efforts I was told since it was actually considered a grass these products wouldn’t work. They have taken over my flower beds and it’s just too much too pull out at this point . Any and all advise is so greatly appreciated ! Thank you in advance !

If in flower beds, cover with landscape fabric then cover with mulch. No sun = no grow.
You will need to pull and rake out the crab grass. Then lay down some landscape fabric and about 2" to 3" of mulch.
The timing of your weed killer is important. If you apply it when forsythia is blooming (generally in the beginning of May here in the Chicago area), you will kill it when the seeds begin germinating but before they take root.
