do not fill washer too full;wash the loads 2x on shorter cycles;lots of pet hair ? put clothes in dryer before you put in washer just on air cycle to remove pet hair first then wash adding 2 lrg balls of crumpled aluminum foil will help reduce static and hair will come off easier;add borax 20 mule team detergent booster along with detergent;add baking soda or vinegar to wash along with detergent; clean wash machine regularly with bleach and laundry soap on hottest setting possibly adding vinegar to rinse cup;don't use any liquid softener in wash machine coats everything and leaves residue/film on everything including drains, filters, pumps, fibers in clothes, towels, linens--if you really need a softener use vinegar in rinse cup, wool dryer balls--which if you want scented items you can add 100%pure essential oils to dryer balls or even damp wash cloth in dryer with loads
Sometimes people use too much soap, makes laundry grey. A few things to consider. Wash fewer items at a time on large load setting, use pretreat solutions on stains, wash in cool water ( hot water can set stains), try oxi clean powder and maybe a little bleach.
How clean you can get your laundry depends on a few things. Your water; hard or soft, using hot, cold, or warm. Your detergent. What kind ofdirt is on your laundry. What materials your laundry is made from. The size of your loads.

wash smaller loads;wash 2x on shorter cycles;lots of pet hair? put clothes in dryer air only to pull hair off before washing add 2 large balls of aluminum foil to cut static;do not use any fabric softener in wash machine coats everything drains,clothes,filter,pumps--if you want softer laundry add vinegar to rinse cup or use wool dryer balls and foil in dryer adding 100% pure essential oils on wet wash cloth or dryer balls to sent your laundry;clean washer at least 1-3 month using either bleach or vinegar and hottest settings ; adding laundry booster like 20 mule team borax helps too or baking soda to wash loads along with detergents
I add Vinegar (1/4 cup) to the wash. My towels are fluffy and the laundry seems much brighter.
First, do not use the amount of soap the manufacturers say on your detergent containers, I place a small scoop, not the blue one what comes in the container, of Oxi Clean, in the bottom of my washer, load the clothes and put in 1/2 of the normal soap. (Tide or Persil) Use 1/4 cup of vinegar in your rinse water by placing it in the softener cup and your clothes will come out clean, fresh and softer. It may not come brilliant white the first time but you will eventualy see an improvement. Too much soap makes clothing grey and dingy.
Hi Sarla - I love this laundry detergent that we use. It's an all-natural DIY and made with safe ingredients. You can use it on an HE machine too. Hope this helps! Hugs, Holly

Sort your clothes into whites, darks and light colors. I use Oxiclean, the hottest water possible for the type of load and second rinse. I think the vinegar, as some suggested, is a good idea but I think it should be diluted if you are going to put it in the fabric softener dispenser. Otherwise it might coroder the tubing.
