When I make scented candles, I use essential oils such as lavendar or holiday scents such as apple pie or cinnamon. You can buy walmart or dollar store candles very cheap, like 25 cents each, and melt them, add the oil and pour them into glass containers or even waxy cardboard (like juice quarts and half gallons) to make ice cube candles that turn out very lacy and pretty.
