I've used foam board to block light. If you aren't familiar with it, it's like posterboard with a layer of foam. Super cheap and easy to cut. Cut it as close to size as possible so you can wedge it in. I used to work night shift and it was the only thing that worked for me. If you have a large area to cover you can tape the sections together.
