How can you restore a hardwood floor?
I have a hardwood floor that has faded over the years. When the area rugs were removed it is drastically different colors. Is there any way to restore it so that it looks uniform again?

That would be a huge job for the home owner. Sanding, if not once then twice - with the resultant debris getting into everything. I had new floor boards put down, but just the cutting of them, left a shocking mess - got into cupboards in the kitchen, bedroom, even tho' they use a saw with a bag to catch most of the dust. My advice, go to the professionals.
Sand it down
You can sand and refinish them... but that is a HUGE job, and a bit hazardous if the finish you're removing is a factory finish (the boards came pre-finished, as opposed to being laid down and then finished).
Hi Kathy, hope this helps you
