Is there a way to whiten the plastic on a washer panel?

The only way to whiten it is to paint the plastic with the appropriate paint.

You can try bleach, but I dont think it will do much. You can buy a spray paint for plastic which would be my recommendation.
You can try appliance white spray paint....I've used it on refrigerators does a decent job.....
