Yes you can, but it takes some doing and you need to have heirloom tomato varieties (hybrids will not give you the same tomatoes). This is the right time of year to be saving the seeds. It's a but gross, but collect a couple of tomatoes from your best plants. And then you're going to let them rot. After a couple of weeks of this, collect & dry the seeds. Store them in a cool dry spot and they should be good to go for next year.
