Hi Ruth, sorry you have blood on your sheets. I am a Nurse and worked in the ICU we were always getting blood on our scrubs. Pour undiluted peroxide on the blood area and it should come right out. Peroxide never faded our scrubs.
You don't mention what color they are or what type fabric. Need a bit more info. In general, I would spot treat with Dawn dish detergent to work it loose. Then I would soak it overnight in Oxiclean.
I've always just used cold water and soap. Then launder as usual.
