Is there a clever way to store an extra bed?

Once upon a time, I had an incredibly comfortable full size bed. I recently moved into a furnished apartment, with a horrendous queen bed. new projects in mumbai I hate it.My full size bed is currently at my parents’ house, on the verge of being given away. I can’t afford a storage unit nor have any friends with the space. I asked the property manager and she said she doesn’t have a place to store the queen bed, so it needs to stay. This bed is too big; it takes up too much room for me to bring in my desk and vanity.I also don’t want to lose my security deposit. Does anyone have ideas on how to bring in my full size bed while somehow keeping the queen? luxury old age homes in india

    Hi Robin,

    This is a tough situation!

Without seeing the layout of your apt, the number of rooms, square feet etc, it is tough to come up with a practical solution.

From what I am undersanding is you want to remove the entire qn bed set up and put in entire full bed setup? This would work for you? Then you'd have room for a vanity and a desk?

Would it be possible to put your desk and vanity in another room until you can come up with a storage place. Or would the property manager have room to store something from the apt other than the queen that would open up space for you?

Another suggestion would be to take down the qn bed assembly and store it behind the couch up against a wall, be sure to cover it so no damage will come to the wall. It's not pretty, but maybe a practical solution until you can come up with something else. Best to you.

You don't say whether or not the queen sized bed has a frame. So let's set that possibility aside for a minute and assume it does not. I would suggest setting the double bed mattress on top of the queen sized mattress, preferably with the long side of each set against the wall. . . even better if it could be in a corner Put the smaller mattress so that it is at the outer edge of the bigger mattress. That would leave space on the queen sized mattress against the wall (or two walls) or down one side. On the "empty" space use bolsters or brightly covered pillows to fill in that space. This would look intentional and will take care of the mattress,/box springs on queen (leave your box springs at your home) Maybe your parents could house the queen frame too? Or you could hide it behind a big wall hanging like a quilt or maybe behind a sofa. Good luck

A full size mattress is 54" x 75". A queen is 60" x 80" so there is barely any difference in size. So keep the queen set in the bedroom and put the full size set on top. Maybe you could remove the bed frame, which would be easy to store, sit the queen size set on the floor, push it toward or against the wall and put the full size set on top with outsides edges even. You would have a 5" gap at the top between the wall and the full size set that you could fill with decorative pillows or maybe you could cover some 5" thick foam slabs for a headboard.
