Is it the seat or the legs that need repair? Do you have a picture?
Adding braces to the legs should help to stabilize them.

You can get braces for these at any diy store. If need be, take the bar stool to the store and ask for advise on which would work best for you.
If it is the legs, start by taking it apart. Then clean up the joint and re-glue, did this with mine several years back and they are still solid.
