How can I build a shelf onto my wooden door headboard?
I painted and distressed an old door and had a friend of mine cut out these angel wings I drew. I used my drimmel to carve the actual wings into the wood then I distressed them and attached them to the headboard. But I want more out of this piece. So I was thinking about putting a small ledge at the top of it so that I’ll have a shelf all the way across. Or even bring it in about 3 1/2” on each side. Instead of it being the full length of the headboard. HOW WOULD I DO THIS??? Pls help💕💕💕

Can you post a picture! It would be helpful for us to give you good suggestions!
You can support it with wooden brackets. They have some very pretty decorative ones.
Please attach a pic of your headboard.
I did this also. I used crown moulding for support and just a board a little wider than the crown moulding for the shelf. You have to miter the moulding at the corners and attach it even with the top of the headboard than put the shelf board on top. Good luck with your project.
