Hi Jamie, you really have to cut the grease and that can be done with baking soda and a dish washing soap like Dawn. Make a paste and clean the underside of the hood, then rinse with very hot water water and cloth. Here's a video showing how to clean the screens with the same mixture. Hope this helps you.

I use Simple Green, it cuts grease and deodorizes and disinfects too.
