Check to see if you can't just slide the micro out and unplug it, then clean. Vinegar/hot water mix with a squeeze of blue Dawn dish soap works well on grease.
April, is this microwave also the exhaust fan? If so, the bottom should have metal filters that slide out. These can be washed in your kitchen sink with dish soap.
You can take out the fan filter and clean it separately. I use a grease cutter made by ZEP that’s awesome. Magic Erasers also a miracle. The toughest part is getting into the space. Also, the front trim should be removable for cleaning, but check your manual. Other parts might be removable as well.

First, use a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser to get rid of the bulk of the grease, followed by Windex.
