How can I make an inexpensive covering for sofa cushions?
I have a couch which is really showing wear & tear especially with the seat cushions. Unfortunately the cushions are not removable nor have any zippers at all so l can't turn them over to plump them up. I don't have a sewing machine either. The couch design is not doable for a couch slipcover. I bought the couch in a hurry so l didn't have the time to tell the cushions were stationary. Due to the wear & tear the couch is not very attractive & it's very uncomfortable to sit on. I welcome any suggestions. Thank you in advance. Kind Regards

It will be almost impossible to fashion any sort of covers for just the cushions that will stay in place if the cushions are not removeable.
Why do you feel that the design of the couch is not suitable for a slipcover?
Posting a picture of the couch would be helpful as then we could see exactly what you have to work with.
Check amazon.com you can pick from different sofa types with slipcovers that correspond to that style. They have dozens so at least check it out.
Hi Karen. I'm Cindy. You could use a drop cloth to cover your sofa. Use fabric glue or sew by hand. You can even stencil on a design. Use the cushions you have just beef them up with pillows or foam and batting. Good luck Karen.
If the couch is suffering significant wear and tear and isn’t comfortable and is unattractive —those three considerations.......it may not be worth trying to refurbish.
Fabric for reupholstering can be a costly consideration. The time cost and trouble may not be worthwhile effort.
Consider used?
Most times thrift stores, consignment shops, habitat for humanity shops and Craigslist have wonderful furniture options there. You might have to rent a Uhaul truck or van. I have purchased quality Ethan Allen, Drexel, Amish and other quality pieces of furniture at extreme discounted pricing -my recommendation would be to search for alternatives before proceeding with your rehab. Hope this helps.
I don't know if the size you would need to fit your couch is available, but I do know that Walmart.com sells slipcovers on their website.
You're welcome.
