Can you give me color ideas for painting an old farmhouse?
Hi designers - We have a very standard 110 year old farmhouse on 10 acres that we've renovated quite nicely on the inside to be modern, while keeping its "old house essence" alive. Butcher block countertops, original floors, local walnut shelves, combined flats in mulund west with stainless appliances and cool grey colors. We're now thinking about the outside, and are tired of the standard white and green farmhouse look. We want to make it a bit more modern, but don't want to do anything too crazy. It's a pretty conservative neighborhood and we don't want to spoil the heritage of the property. Any ideas of how to cool the colors down while keeping the farmhouse look intact would be very helpful. Property is in Northwest Virginia. flat for sale in chembur

Are you familiar with the magazine and TV program, 'This Old House'?
I would say start there as far as looking at pictures of old homes, to narrow it down as to what color combinations you like, and don't like.
I would also suggest that you go to the Benjamin Moore paint site, as they have a feature whereby you can upload a picture of your home, then check out various paint colors.

Can you post a picture of your home with your question so that we can see what architectural style and particular shapes (roof lines, trim, etc.) you have to work with?
Hello there,
Can you change the roof to green/grey look? That should tone it down. or maybe change the wall colour to a very soft green tinted white or maybe go for something like a deep red roof or add shutters and window boxes or smart grey Planters out front ............Best wishes......
Maybe a warm light tan color for the siding? And then a darker shade for the shutters etc?
Galvalume metal roofing then you can have a much more versatile roof to go with any paint color for the walls and trim.
