I have an issue with metal glides wearing down the sides of my drawers. I would like to change them out to wood glides.

the wood glides have a tendency to swell in humid weather, that's why I installed metal ones.

I was concerned about how framing lumber is not fully cured these days and is “wet”.

And I wondered if that was the same for “modern” wood glides?

If so, maybe a very low oven for 20 mins?

Center glides, yes, are available on line. Amazon has them starting at $18 for wood/metal combo and $25 for all wood.

They have a larger profile (size) than metal, and I’d check the existing dimensions.

When installing, I’d use 3 fasteners: ribbed shank finish nail on the ends into the drawer box, and both wood glue & epoxy glue in alternating patches.

They’ll need to set-up for 24 hours before use

A number of years ago I needed to replace a wooden drawer glide. Stopped by a cabinet shop with the broken guide and they made a new one, quick and easy.

J, yes, the existing ones are metal.

The crux of the solution is if the wood ones will fit.
