How can I use an old small gas heat stove?

I have a small gas fireplace we used to heat our bedroom. It doesn't work anymore, so I wanted to take all the insides our and use it for something. Does anyone have any ideas?

  As in setting logs on fire?
  Burning wood-based products require a flue that goes above the roof line, a real fireplace and a hearth.

  Probably not a good idea as it will not be properly vented. Hence a health and fire hazard.

While I can't think of anything off the top of my head, hang on to it for a bit, till an epiphany strikes! Hopefully other Hometalkers have some creative suggestions.

Since winter is coming, did you find an alternate heat source?
You decided it was not worth fixing the gas heater and could you please send us a picture? Thanks.
All the propane heaters I have are small and compact. There’s not much to re-purpose on mine.
