If it isn't too far gone, you might be able to save it with an epoxy seal over the concrete.
If that isn't feasible, then resurface down to the solid area and pour new slab on top of what's salvageable.
Try resurfacing it, Judy. Here's a link:

Depending on how much has eroded, and where, you're right to ask about this now - so you can prevent more salt issues as winter approaches. First, remove all the crumbling concrete and have a look at what you've got. Next, decide on what the future might bring - and how to avoid that. If you know salt is going to continue to be an issue, the obvious thing -- once repaired with concrete patch -- (Found in home stores - follow all the directions.) is what to use as a layer between the future salt exposure and the concrete. There are A LOT of options. You can simply paint the concrete. You can do a fancy garage terrazzo-look floor (they are really nice and not too pricey - just take time and patience), you can epoxy seal as mentioned above, or you can install a second flooring over the concrete. Helping you to make your decision are the answers to the following : What's your budget? What's your skill level? How much time do you want to put into this project? Does the look of the end result of your garage carry any weight? (plain or attractive) Depending on where you live, you may need to start this project right away. Remember to measure everything before you buy anything!
