You really do NOT want to paint your cabinets with chalk paint. That was a fad and basically for furniture. It works on furniture. But does not last in the kitchen. And painting cabinets is not an easy task. You do not want to have to re-do them within a year or two. Clean, sand, and prime. Then paint you will be much happier with the result.
I actually agree with Dee. There is so much prep that goes into getting a long lasting finish, it negates the benefits of chalk paint. Plus, you will get a much nicer finish.
