Do you know what the smell is coming from?
Hello Jurni. Charcoal works good on eliminating bad smells. But it takes time. Place the charcoal on a plate and put it in your basement. It may take a week or more to be effective.
Use Vinigar and put some amonia in it with some water and dawn soap and clean it nicely. It will go away instantly. Hope it helps!
Clean up anything that is causing odors such as a pet waste. A dehumidifier helps if it's caused by dampness. We had something die in our attic a few years ago and couldn't find it. I bought a product called Odor Sponge and that took care of the smell.
Buy some Damp rid, it absorbs Excess Moisture In The Air Naturally And Eliminates Stale, Musty Odors. Attract & Trap Excess Moisture & Prevent Musty Odors From Damaging Your Belongings.
Since this is the basement it suggests dampness or mold/mildew. Throw out anything that has an off smell to it, or clean it and air dry if you need to salvage.
To keep dampness down, get a dehumidifier and use Damp Rid, I prefer the bag system that catches the water rather then the container, I am clumsy and it is no fun to clean up a tipped over chemical water. You can also monitor the level of humidity down there with a meter, Walmart and diy stores have them, not expensive.
Hu Jurni, hope this helps you out. This has a lot of very good information for you, first you really want to locate the sour e of the odor if possible.
