If you have the patience, you can chisel them out, but this is a tedious process, requiring a good sledge hammer and a variety of chisels. Approach the embedded brick via angles, rather than 90° angle to the surface area.
Wear eye protection and anti vibration gloves, long sleeves, etc.
JJ Walker would say Dino-mite! I'd use a chisel.
