I don’t know how big the hole is but maybe you can put a votive or a battery tea light in the center.
I'm thinking napkin rings. Another thought would be to pit a picture in it-like a child's face.
Yes, they look like they're supposed to be napkin rings. If you don't like them wood, you can paint them to match your decor, china, dining room, etc.
They'd make splendid Christmas ornaments! You might even get an idea of painting one of two of them.....like "sand washed" and glitter would be awesome! Have fun

How about a garland? Thread them between beads or ornaments on heavy cord or rope.
What about putting crystal snowflakes in the center. Something like this

They would make great curtain rod finials or could be rigged to be handles for closet doors or dressers . You could also put a dowel through the holes and add them to a board creating hanging pegs.
