My house is rustic cottage style, but if you enjoy a farmhouse or shiplap look, it does have that appearance. It can also be modern. Once painted, it really is about the decor you put around it.
Paint it. Painted paneling is a great look and adds interest to otherwise plain walls. Don't let old paneling stop you from buying a house you like. Good luck!
