Hi Cindy, one of my favorite ideas for adding storage and space is putting shelves between studs like the photo I am attaching. After that high upper shelves above the toilet can really help.
You could do overheard storage above the toilet, a lot of stores like Target, Walmart, IKEA, etc. have some great options!
We have an extremely small area that is only toilet sized. But we have fairly high ceilings. Years ago I installed this storage space. This is not a true bathroom, just a toilet with the sink and medicine cabinets nearby in the next space.

IKEA makes great all-plastic (no rust) shelving units that are very small, for $10-12.
