Hi Ann. Do you need to cut out the middle for a reason? I used an old tray for magnets but just left the middle intact and painted it. You can see it below. If you need to cut out the middle, you would need to get something that will cut through the metal to remove the middle of the tray. http://www.recreateddesigns.com/2016/06/retro-tray-dump-store/
