How can I decorate this entryway?
Is this called an entry way or foyer!? I don't even know but I do know it needs something! This is the look at soon as you walk into my home. Please help. I'm hoping for a look that says "inviting, and cozy" or after a long day "welcome home". Also baby and toddler friendly! Thanks in advance!!

Basically, a small bench with a shelf or someplace to hang your coat is a simple way to add a little welcoming element. Hope you find what you're looking for and share what you do with the space.
A long runner rug would invite you in. You could move the small table next to the door and put a tall plant in it's place so the thermostat? isn't as noticeable. Find some coordinating art to hang over the table and on the wall next to the door. Or you could hang a mirror in one of those spaces.
It is an entry way, because it is small. how about a corner cabinet? , look in junk stores, you could paint it a unique color, or a 3' tall floor vase, you could seasonally decorate.
Depending on your 'style', you need to warm up these walls! Paint one of them (or a corner) in a color that you love. Then, add some posters, pictures, kiddie art, "welcome" signs, floating shelves with souvenirs or your travels - or of family - and make this spot your own. For a toddler-friendly boost, add a little crate or bin with things they like to take in the car or visiting - that they can keep their 'personal' things in. This will start a process of "everything in its place" and help them learn to put their things away. The hardest part will be making choices - just go with it!
Add a console table on the right. A "welcome" or similar sign on the wall, maybe your last initial. Large rug with slip resistant pads on the back. If there's room for a chair or bench, that would give you a spot to sit down and take off shoes.
The blank wall to the left when you walk in I place a pretty mirror and small bench to sit put shoes on, where that little table is I would place a floating shelf to place your keys, etc when you coming in and perhaps a potted floor plant ,
first of all, this entry way has a lot going for it. Nice door, nice sidelights. I would get a larger and more colorful rug. On the wall to right in picture Hang a pretty large mirror. Under it put a narrow table or shelf to catch keys, mail etc. Do not put any words or letters on the wall, they are passe (no longer fashionable; out of date:) People like to look in a mirror as they exit a house. As far as being baby or toddler friendly as long as it is safe for them it is not necessary to make it any more specifically for their use. Good luck. You have a lot to work with.

I agree with Emily, you have a really nice entryway. Add a table and some plants, a small rug and something on the walls. Look at Kirklands they have great wall art.
Thank you, everyone, for your suggestions!! I have ordered some things and can't wait to see the outcome!
