There should be a pipe leaving your dryer and it should go to the outside. Do you remember who installed the dryer? Can you ask them?
Has to have a large silver hose from dryer to outside. If you don’t you’ll need to make one. Could cause a fire.
Hi Bonnie, I own a ventless washer/dryer combo is your like that? If not if you will need to pull it out from the wall to be able to see behind it and access the vent - most "regular" clothes dryers vent out the back.
Sounds like you will have to pull out dryer and take the connection apart at both ends. Then vacuum out the hose and the wall connection and the dryer too. There should be a small 'collar' around the hose at the back of dryer and the wall. There is a screw that holds the collar together. Use a medium size screwdriver to loosen the screw and pull the hose off. Most of these screws are slot screws(has just one line on top of screw versus X style for phillips screw.) When finished push the end of hose back on and tighten the collar screw back in place. The outside part of the dryer vent wouldn't help you much as they have a cover that is harder to remove. You can check one more time while the dryer is running you should be able to feel the heat from the vent. If you still can't find a vent opening contact the builder(if you know who) or the realtor that sold you the house. If someone forgot to put the vent in they have to come back to fix. Clogged vent hoses can start fires.
