I would try regluing them and clamping them to dry. Construction adhesive should work - check with your local hardware or home improvement store.
If you have a picture or can tell us the type of material they used we may be able to help better. Could be something as simple as wood glue and small brad nails.
“Top pieces” of what? Wood? Laminate? What failed, the adhesive or what it was glued to (substrate)?

If it is the laminate that is separating from the cabinet, contact cement can be used to re-adhere the laminate. I hope this helps!
