I know some people just toss theirs in the washing machine, but I spray a solution of equal parts bleach and water on mine.
Hi there! Throw it in your clothes washing machine on a cold cycle. Don't dry it, just hang it up afterwards, it works great I've done it several times. I usually just throw it in with a bunch of towels but you can wash it alone too.
Wash in the washing machine on the gentle cycle. Just a little bit of detergent, vinegar in the wash and rinse cup, no fabric softener. I add a couple heaping tablespoons of baking soda too. Then hang up right out of the washer.
Ii wash mine with a load of towels, warm water/cold rinse, then put it into the dryer with the towels for about 5 minutes/no more. Pull it out from the dryer and hang it up!
IF you don't want or can't take it down easily and it is the bottom area that needs to be cleaned you can fill a tall kitty litter or similar bucket with your cleaning product of choice. Place the bucket high enough to get dirty area covered, draw the curtain together and let soak. To rinse use clear water.
I toss mine in the washer on gentle cycle with several towels, add a cup of vinegar and baking soda, cold water wash and rinse. When done hang back up.
