How do I attach drywall to fiberboard?
I have enough large squares of left over drywall to cover the back of a bookcase / hutch. The current back is thin fiber or paper board.Can I recycle re leftover drywall this way.

The drywall is probably much thicker and heavier than the fiberboard that is on the back of your hutch/bookcase. I would consider using some 1/4 luan or beadboard paneling before I would consider using the sheet rock. You can remove the paperboard backing--it is usually stapled or nailed on and then replace it with something other than sheet rock.
