What is the best way to clean wall-to-wall carpet?
What's the best way to clean wall-to-wall carpet? Years ago I used a product that was almost like sawdust that you used a scrub brush lightly to get the area covered, waited, then vacuumed up. Anything like that still exist?

What is the best way to clean a sisal rug to remove stains from it?
I would use water and soap but I don´t know wheter sisal rugs shrink with water. Some stains are from spilling drinks, some others were produced by pets.
We find the best way to clean carpet is to rent a steam cleaner from the grocery store - or home improvement store. Does a really thorough job!
I’ve heard of using arm and hammer odor eliminator. It’s a powder that’s effective for eliminating the odor, but I’m not sure how well it actually cleans. I would look into renting a carpet shampooer for a deep clean.
They still make a dry carpet cleaning powder called Capture. This may be what you are referring to. I would opt for the steam carpet cleaner to really clean your carpet. If you use a powder I think it just freshens up any odors but doesn't really clean the carpet.
Have professionally steam cleaned at least once a year for optimum performance. I have it done more often, but I have a lot of pets.
