How can I remove animal stains from my carpet?
I have tried "Folex" and "Skout's Honor" and both of these take up the initial gunk. The stains eventually start to fade and a thorough shampooing gets rid of the residual but can't shampoo my carpets weekly.

If you have that many stains, I would schedule a vet visit to check for any underlying illness. Sometimes it is as simple as a food change, brushing daily so they don't constantly throw up their fur from grooming, or even medication. To combat the existing stains, here are some things you can try.

Clean up the vomit and then use a wet rag to remove as much liquid as possible. Pour a thin coating of baking soda over the area to absorb the liquid and odor. You can also work the baking soda into the carpet by hand.
Now mix 50/50 white vinegar and warm water together in a spray bottle and spray the baking soda. The vinegar and baking soda will interact to help loosen particles and stains.
Let the area dry. Then rinse with a cloth and warm water. Let that dry then vacuum the area.
Vinegar is a disinfectant, it has antibacterial properties and removes many household odors.
Vinegar works well on most surfaces. I would start with a 50-50 mix with warm water and test a hidden spot if you are worried about colorfastness.

If there aren’t too many cleansing chemicals in the carpet and pad, Nature’s Miracle will eat the vomit.
It is live enzymes, which will need to live for at least 48 hours to eat the vomit. As in saturate the carpet and cover if with a piece of plastic or damp towel.
It can be bought at full line Pet Stores. White bottle, red letters.
You need an enzymatic cleaner like nature's Miracle. A word of caution, though, the previous cleaners you've used need to be fully rinsed first
I use my carpet cleaner with warm water and enzyme tablets in the water reservoir to get the residue out, and mainly use the suction to prevent the carpet from getting too wet, and to suck up any dirty water.
I first use paper towels, then Dollar Tree Home Store carpet cleaning spray, blot and remove any gunk with more paper towels and a soft carpet brush. If its stained I follow up with carpet cleaning foam to get the stain out and the carpet brush. Then if its wet, I use the carpet cleaner on the spot.
Thank you.
Thanks for all the useful hints.
If the stains -urine- have soaked through to the pad underneath, the only way to get rid of the smell is to pull the carpet up and cut out the stained pad from under it. Even if it's not visible, the smell is there! Then cut and replace carpet if neccessary.
