are you speaking of small children or adult children? For Xmas our adult child gave us a kitchen composter, a photo frame that people can email their photos to (Amazon) books we requested. We have lived in the same house for almost 50 years so "house" gifts are no longer needed but maybe something that is unique to the new house. . . say if they have more bathrooms, towels or accessories for another bathroom, if more wall space art or shelves for walls, bigger kitchen; more small appliances. A gift that is suitable not only for them but for the need(s) of the new house.
What might they want, but not yet willing to spend the money on? Porch or patio furniture, a new bbq grill, plants or a tree, pillows and throws for a new color palette? Pay attention to what they say about upgrading or swapping out items - that will give you clues as to what to shop for.
This one has a saying written across it but a framed map of the new home's area or the home they left as a remembrance is always a nice gift...and it you want to add words over it, or handprints if the children are young, you can. https://www.hometalk.com/diy/decorate/walls/second-hand-item-becomes-a-treasured-house-warming-gift-42174191
Second Hand Item Becomes a Treasured House Warming Gift
Hi Pamela, if the house is not in need of renos, then you could get them a gift card for a nice meal out together, or a great piece of art for one of the rooms. If it requires renovations, you could get them a gift card for a home improvement store or service. Hope this helps a bit
If these children can create things, I would go along the consumable line of thinking...such as hot chocolate mixes, a pan of brownies, a batch of fudge, cookies, little fancy bags of favorite candy...
It would be up to the parents to make the house decor and all the accents, otherwise the intentions with items maybe considered as something to take out of storage when visited upon.
home depot or lowe's gift cards - a small tree or plant that you could plant for them in the yard~ gardening tools ~
