Betty: maybe this will help!

Mod Podge is not the focus of projects, simply an ingredient sometimes necessary to complete them. It is like Elmers glue which I favor. My craft is decoupage and that is simply gluing cutouts (which you have to do) to a surface. I use glue for lots of projects, it is a household staple. Here is one project, the beads and women were cut out and applied to this wooden jewelry box with Elmers, but I could also have used Mod Podge. All these images have required the use of glue. This is a wonderful hobby as the material costs are next to nothing and the time spent can be as much or as little as you like.

My daughter made some outstanding paper mosaics with cutting up magazine advertisements and using modge podge. The ones Ive done were more primitive. It can be used to make wonderful Christmas ornaments too.
I used the outdoor mod podge for these: https://www.curlycraftymom.com/2016/05/monogrammed-fabric-pots-summer.html
