How do I organize a condo living room?
I need more furniture to display items and organize things in my living room and entry way, but I’m torn between buying shelves or bigger pieces of furniture.

Go vertical to save room.
A console table for the entry way, and a behind the sofa table will help you organize especially if you buy the kind with storage underneath the top. Bigger furniture in a small condo will only make it look and feel smaller.

You need a shelf unit or shelving I would get a shelf unit so you could move anywhere you need it you could alwYs paint it if you move it eather metel or wood and maybe at the bottom get some baskets to store items.

So much depends on the size of your living room the placement of doors and windows, what you already own and what you are willing to buy, that without pictures it is really hard to give good advice. For us we have built in bookshelves on two walls in our living room and also a big one in our "sitting" room where there also is a built in structure that holds the t.v. and has display shelves. When you say "organize things" do you mean like lamps and decorative items? Do you need space for books or decorative items?
I would buy furniture that has storage built in, such as a coffee table that you can stow baskets underneath or with drawers, maybe a simple bookshelf on each side of the TV... IKEA has some great storage solutions!
I am partial to shelving with decorative bins.
I think it depends a lot on the size and shape of your space. This living room design guide might help. https://jessicawellinginteriors.com/living-room-landing/
What if you did a cabinet that had shelves and storage?
You could do shelves on the wall and a piece of furniture underneath such as a low dresser or cabinet or console table
Depends on size of room and whether you like traditional or modern or Minimalist or Maximist styles. Buy first the essentials for the room. If you need to sit down - buy a chair. Always buy items that are useful and attractive to look at or can be made so. Always buy items that will fit easily (Size) for the size of your room. Look out for bargains at Thrift Stores too.
