once all of it is cleaned off, take a paper towel and roll into a ball, put one or two drops (no more) on the paper towel and lay on the sofa where the odor is and it will take it out. It takes dead fish smells out of a cooler so it should work for you too - just don't let the vanilla while wet touch sofa so it won't stain it
Hi Alicia,
What is your couch made of? Fabric, leather, plastic, pleather?

One of two drops of what? Vanilla? That will not take the smell out of fabric it will just cover it up.
Vacuum the sofa with an upholstery brush attachment on a vacuum cleaner.
Sprinkle baking soda on the upholstered areas of the sofa. ...
Leave the baking soda on the sofa for at least 15 minutes, or overnight for severe odors. ...
Vacuum the sofa a second time to remove the baking soda residue.
You can also add essential oils to the baking soda. I would use lavender or sage.
Use just three common household ingredients:

Try some baking soda or clean kitty litter. Rub either on and let it set for awhile. See if it works.
Liberally sprinkle baking soda all over the couch and the underside. Leave it for a few hours or overnight. Vacuum the baking soda off
Yes to the baking soda. Also, depending on your couch fabric, you might be able to take the cushion covers off and run them through the washing machine on delicate cycle- use Woolite and hang them to dry of course.
Hi Alicia - Not sure if this will be strong enough, however it's my favorite Febreze style air freshener. It's an all-natural DIY and easy to make. Hope this helps! Hugs, Holly
